I have a love/hate relationship with spring. Ok, maybe hate is too strong a word, but I strongly dislike the unpredictable weather — glorious one day, unbearable wind tunnel the next. However, the infectious joy mutually experienced on those first sunny, warm days is unbeatable. Naturally, my instinct is to reflect that cheeriness inside my home with little bits of color, delicate floral details, and a general freshness. I’ve scoured around to find my favorite pieces of decor, tabletop, and garden for Spring that are meant to be saved and enjoyed for many sunny days to come.

I fell in love with Robert Kime’s floral print Susani in the home of Furlow Gatewood who overall made very little use of designer fabric but generously deployed this print on upholstered furniture and pillow covers — often alongside a blue check. It’s so fresh and beautiful and feels springlike to me.

I’ve had my eye on Petra Palumbo’s carafe and tumbler set for ages. The floral design is hand-painted, and there are several to choose from — I’m drawn to the blue bells at the moment. This set along with fresh flowers, a good book, and a lovely scented candle (this fresh cut scent is made for this time of year) are the ideal accents to freshen up a bedside table.
